A clan match page started and maintained by Hobbex. Around 150 clans were registered as of November 1997. The clans reported official matches with screenshots, sometimes comments, and Hobbex presented the results on his site.

A Frag in the Darkness started out as a simple collection of statistics and clan match history, before Hobbex decided to make a ranking system for HPW and LPB clan wars. The Norwegian Carnage Clan was 1st on the LPB rankings, thus arguably the best Nordic clan at at that time. When they dissolved the clan to form Game Over in November 1997, Teddy Bears became the new leading LPB clan. Brutal Deluxe and Clan 9 were also among the top LPB clans. [A] was the best HPW clan, at least at one point, with high ping players from Teddy Bears, Swedish Chefs and Da Swedish Mob also doing well.

Hobbex did not run a league or a tournament, thus matches from other leagues like Norwegian Quake League, Swedish Quake League, Danish Quake League would also be reported to and count in the rankings of A Frag in The Darkness.
